Light Tackle Tournament Comes to Treasure Coast
The Stuart Sailfish Club will have its 59th-annual Light Tackle Invitational Sailfish Tournament on Dec. 6, the first of three days of championship fishing.
The yearly catch-and-release tournament starts out of Sailfish Marina in Port Salerno and draws anglers from all over the country, as well as Canada. There are two divisions: the Open Division and the Traditional Division. Both will have a professional angler aboard each participating boat.
The Dec. 6 kickoff party is sponsored by Fogel Capital Management, an advisory firm in the heart of downtown with a location on riverfront property in Stuart. The awards presentation will take place Dec. 9 at Mariner Sands.
Proceeds from the Small Boat Fishing Tournament benefit the Stuart Sailfish Club Scholarship Program.

Waterfront Homes for Sale in Jensen Beach
Found just north of Stuart adjacent to the beach is the town of Jensen Beach, Florida. Jensen Beach is a protected, charming neighborhood where residents can walk to get to where they want to go. Most Jensen Beach real estate was constructed during 1970 to 1994, but there are some well established homes from the 1940's to 1969 and even a few historic residences. Multi-family homes include some high-rises and a few row houses and attached homes. The Jensen Beach population has a good mix of young single residents, seniors and families with school-aged children.
Jensen Beach waterfront homes are situated in a scenic area with gorgeous beaches perfect for fishing, walking, swimming, surfing and just soaking up the sun. The main public beach is Jensen Sea Turtle Beach, on Hutchinson Island. The quaint downtown streets with its outdoor cafes and unique boutiques and galleries encourage afternoon strolls. Once considered the "Pineapple Capital of the World," the crop was wiped out in the early 1900's. Although no longer grown here, this fruit remains a symbol and is honored each year at the annual Pineapple Festival. In fact, between sports events and fishing tournaments, the town has an active event calendar. Golfers have the local Eagles Marsh Golf Club located right in town, or there are dozens of courses in neighboring communities only a few minutes drive. Stuart Yacht and Country Club Site of ‘Big’ Dinner
Board and staff members of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Palm Beach and Martin Counties recently were feted at the Stuart Yacht and County Club.
During the recognition dinner, awards were doled out to the hard-working team of volunteers and employees, as well as businesses who have supported the agency throughout the year.
The Yacht and Country Club served as a perfect site for the dinner, as it has for several other 2012 charitable events, including the Martin County Library Foundation and the Halpatiokee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. The development’s generosity is one of the many reasons the Stuart real estate makes such a great investment.
